Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen correspondent banking relationships with both local and international banks.
• Establish, manage, and deepen relationships with bank and non-bank financial institutions across the region to generate FI-related business opportunities.
• Identify and prioritize key banking partners by region and country to expand and strengthen the Bank’s correspondent banking network.
• Manage and maintain the Bank’s correspondent banking and Nostro account network, including the opening and maintenance of accounts in major currencies such as USD, EUR, SGD, CNY, THB and others.
• Perform KYC reviews, due diligence, and periodic assessments for all financial institution counterparties in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Develop and execute a calling program for foreign bank branches and representative offices in Myanmar to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Secure credit facilities and limits for trade finance, treasury products, and medium-term funding from correspondent banks, development finance institutions, and multilateral agencies.
• Identify and pursue trade finance, payment, and treasury business opportunities with regional, APEC, and global banking partners.
• Lead and oversee the Financial Institutions team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain strong working relationships with Credit, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and other relevant departments to facilitate business growth and risk management.
• Ensure awareness of, and compliance with, all applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies relevant to the Financial Institutions function.
• Monitor developments in the banking industry and correspondent banking landscape to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks.
• Manage and regularly review the Bank’s correspondent bank list and relationship portfolio to ensure alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) laws and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant banking software.
