Officer (Merchant Acquisition Team)

About the role

Position Details: - Department: Digital Banking & Cards Department - Number of posts: 1 - Open to: male and female applicants - Work location: MAB Bank, Yangon, Myanmar

Main Duties and Responsibilities: - Support merchant acquisition activities for MAB MMQR and other digital payment solutions. - Identify prospective merchants and assist with merchant registration, onboarding, and activation. - Coordinate with branches and regional offices to support merchant acquisition targets. - Contact merchants to explain MMQR services, provide basic guidance, and encourage transaction usage. - Follow up with registered and inactive merchants to promote activation and repeat transactions. - Assist in merchant training, promotional campaigns, and distribution of merchant marketing materials. - Coordinate with relevant departments to follow up on merchant onboarding, QR code issuance, transaction, settlement, and operational issues. - Maintain accurate merchant records, registration status, and acquisition activity reports. - Prepare regular progress updates and assist with other merchant acquisition activities assigned by the supervisor.

Detail Duties and Responsibilities: - Merchant Acquisition and Onboarding - Contact prospective merchants and support the merchant acquisition process. - Collect and verify required merchant registration documents in accordance with bank procedures. - Follow up on pending applications, merchant approvals, and QR code issuance. - Assist merchants with basic onboarding instructions and MMQR usage. - Merchant Activation, Engagement - Contact newly registered merchants to encourage their first transactions. - Follow up with inactive merchants and support reactivation activities. - Explain payment procedures and provide basic guidance on transaction verification. - Collect merchant feedback and report issues to the responsible team. - Reporting and Management Support - Maintain updated merchant lists and registration records. - Assist in preparing merchant acquisition and transaction activity reports. - Coordinate with branches and relevant departments to resolve merchant-related issues. - Support merchant campaigns, promotional activities, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, Computer Science, or related field. - Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience: - 5+ years in Digital Banking, Product Management, Business Development, FinTech, or Payment Services. - Experience in Mobile Banking, Wallet, QR Payment, Digital Channels, or Payment Gateway.
